ENGR 110

As a student, working on a project is one of the most valuable hands-off experience one can have. At Santa Clara University, ENGR 110 is a community-based engineering design class where students pair up with a local partner to build a project for them. This project would result in communal benefit.

This site is my e-Portfolio for this class and outlines the design process, tracks progress, and displays the final solution.

About Rocketship Mosaic Elementary School (ROMO)

Walk through the purple gates of Rocketship Mosaic and you'll see a queue of students armed with their coupons eager to buy organic produce created in their gardening classes. This is how this public charter school enriches and rewards their students for their commitment to excellence. Currently, they are taking that dedication to innovation and personalized learning by investing in setting up a Little Free Library at the entrance of their school!

Why a project for ROMO?

Connectivity

Back home, I realized the difference between the proposal of resources and the accessibility of resources. Just because something was offered, that did not necessarily imply it could be readily accessed. Education helps a nation progress and this project aids in that process by connecting its local community!
Service

Service has been my way of expressing gratitude for this gift of life I have been blessed with. I believe it's what gives life purpose. While before this project I served in just one community, now I can learn to serve in multiple.
Happiness

Building always makes me happy. As a programmer,  what I create has always been intangible so, to create something tangible at this scale is beyond exciting.
